Resistors - restricts the flow of electrons, protects components from too much electrons flowing through it.

*need a resistor on the end of every CAN bus

Pulse-width modulation (PWM) (don't use that anymore) - a method of controlling the average power or amplitude delivered by an electrical signal. Used to control the output of motors not using the CAN busbus 

Wire Gauges - Indicates the size of wires

  • Smaller gauge (smaller number)
    • Larger size
    • Lower electrical resistance
    • Greater load-carrying capacity -> better power quality
  • We usually use:
    • 2, 4 - battery
    • 8, 10, 12 - Krakens
    • 12, 14 - most of the wires on our robot
    • 18, 22 - sensors
